Meet Janis Hansen
Creating, Teaching & Inspiring in Ojai Since 1988
For more than three decades, Janis Hansen has called Ojai home, raising her three daughters while building a life centered around creativity, community, and artistic expression.
A self-taught artist with a passion for helping others discover their creative potential, Janis has spent over 25 years sharing her talents throughout Ojai and beyond. Her artistic journey has taken many forms—from creating custom wedding cakes as a trained pastry chef to collaborating with landscape architects and metal artists on indoor and outdoor sculpture projects for clients in Ojai and Montecito.
But teaching has always been at the heart of what she loves most.
Since 2002, Janis has been inspiring artists of all ages through hands-on classes that encourage creativity, confidence, and connection. Whether working with children discovering art for the first time or adults exploring a new creative outlet, she believes everyone has an artist inside them.
